“For thus says the LORD of hosts: Yet once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land. And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of hosts.”
Haggai 2:6-7 (ESV)
God’s people had come home from exile to rebuild the temple, and what they were building looked small next to the glory they remembered. Into that discouragement, the Lord of hosts made a promise: He would shake everything — heaven, earth, and nations — and fill His house with glory.
Damon Morgan showed us that God’s shaking is never random and never wasted:
- God shakes to purge what cannot stay. The shaking removes what was never meant to last, so that what cannot be shaken remains (Hebrews 12:27).
- God shakes to position you for what’s next. What feels like upheaval is often the Lord moving us into the place He has prepared.
- God shakes to pour out His glory. The goal of the shaking is not our ruin but His presence — “I will fill this house with glory.”
