You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all. And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts
Paul did not need a letter of recommendation for the Corinthians. The Corinthians were the letter, and the Spirit of the living God was writing it on their hearts. In this message Damon Morgan shows what that means for a believer’s daily life:
- We are meant to be seen. The Christian life is meant to be authentic, and the change the Spirit is working in us should be evident as we become more like Christ. Others should be able to see it.
- We are meant to be read. A letter is only worth reading if it can be trusted. Our lives need credibility, coherence, and consistency, so that what we say and how we live agree day after day.
- A life meant to be understood. Our message must be clear and free of hypocrisy. Book, chapter, and verse should become belief, practice, and character, so that others can understand Christ through us, and the glory goes to the One who wrote the letter.
The Author is God, and the letter is Christ.
